Project Overview:

Schaduf, in collaboration with the Drosos Foundation, launched one of Cairo’s largest rooftop farming initiatives. The project aimed to empower 500 families to grow leafy vegetables on rooftops, increasing their income while promoting urban agriculture. Schaduf provided both the farming systems and training to ensure success.

Project Results:

• 500 families supported (~2,000 beneficiaries)
• Each family received a rooftop farm with 500 planting units
• Total cultivated area: 1,000 sqm
• Total production: 157,500 cups
• Training delivered to 840 individuals
