Project Overview:

In collaboration with the International Organization for Migration and funded by the European Union, Schaduf launched Egypt’s first hydroponic rooftop farming initiative to support migrant integration. The project equipped 24 individuals with rooftop farms to cultivate leafy vegetables, providing them with a sustainable income source. Training was also delivered to 12 farmers to ensure the success and sustainability of the farms.

Project Results:

  • 6 rooftop farms established for 24 individuals
  • Each farm with 6 planting units covering 150 sqm
  • Total production: 4,800 cups
  • Demonstrated social and economic impact through increased income and skills development
