Project Overview

In partnership with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Schaduf implemented a rooftop farming project to support the social and economic integration of vulnerable Syrian immigrants in Egypt. The initiative provided participants with practical rooftop farming systems and training, enabling them to grow leafy vegetables, improve food security, and increase household income. Schaduf’s role included project implementation, farm setup, and capacity-building to ensure sustainable use and maintenance.

Project Results:

• 16 individuals supported
• 1 rooftop farm established with 36 planting units
• Total cultivated area: 400 sqm
• Total production: 13,200 cups
• Training delivered to 25 participants
